STEPPING UP FOR THE PLANET: THE 14KM RUN FOR NATURE

Breaking a sweat can help save the planet. At Percetakan Yale, we believe environmental protection is a team effort, and planting trees is one of the most effective ways to support nature. Trees clean our air, protect water sources, and provide vital wildlife habitats.

Our efforts directly support the Lower Kinabatangan Rainforest of Sabah, located along the 560km Kinabatangan River. This wildlife renowned for hosting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the planet. As these forests produce 28% of the world’s oxygen and store critical amounts of carbon, they represent our most powerful shield against global climate change.

To mark World Nature Conservation Day, our team joined a virtual run organized by Starun and APE Malaysia (Animal Projects and Environmental Education). Every step we took helped secure seeds destined for the rainforests of Borneo.

According to Global Forest Watch, Malaysia has lost 9.8 million hectares of tree cover since 2001, equivalent to 33% of reduction. However, there are still 18 million hectares of natural forests that we must fiercely protect for future generations.

Thanks to the incredible energy of the Starun community, the event raised RM 4,130 which funding 118 tree saplings for Sabah. The set target of 100 tree saplings was successfully exceeded through this initiative.

Yale Printers contributed immensely, bringing unmatched team spirit and pride to this fantastic eco-initiative. To celebrate this meaningful milestone, every single participant walked away with a beautiful, well-earned medal and a commemorative certificate.

Thank you to our staff and partners for stepping up to keep Malaysia green and thriving.
